Topic: email as html (Page 1 of 1)

This might not be the right place but it is stupid and basic- how do you send a newsletter by email as an html page? I get them but I can't find out how to send them. Is there a tutorial on that somewhere? I couldn't find any but I probably wasn't asking the right question.

First of all, where are you sending this newsletter from? An online service?

You *should* be able to just send the email as raw HTML, and assuming that the recievers of your newsletter don't have HTML messages disabled, it should render just fine in their mailboxes.

No, that didn't work. I cut and pasted the html of a page made in Dreamweaver in the compose mode of yahoo mail and that's what I got on the other end - the html.
I want to send people in my group an email newsletter that looks like a webpage - from my yahoo mailbox. I get messages like that often but I don't know how to send them. Perhaps you have to buy special software.

First of all, I'd recommend against taking Dreamweaver code, and just slapping it into a Yahoo! compose field, as is. The code that Dreamweaver outputs is formatted for webpages not email newsletters.

Second, to get HTML to work from Yahoo! Mail, you'll need to check off an option called "Allow HTML Tags". It should look something like this:



Third, managing newsletters through a Yahoo! Mail account might not be the best or most efficient way. Maybe you should look into an online service that's geared specifically towards mailing and managing newsletters. I can't think of any specific services right now, but they shouldn't be too hard to find. Keep in mind that most of these might not be free.

I can understand that if this is a non-profit thing, you most likely can't pay for some big, professional, service, but in that situation you can probably get by with Yahoo! Groups, right? Since you already have a Yahoo! account, starting up a Yahoo! group is free. Maybe you get subscribers to join the group, and keep them updated that way.
