I would imagine your salary would change with every assignment should they pay you by job. Of course I'm sure you'll be paid per hour since every assignment will be different. If you were installing one generic brand of fence around the same size plot of land with the same landscapes you'd probably charge a generic price because you know exactly how much it costs to create that fence. Since time and difficulty will vary assignment to assignment you'll wanna be paid per hour. It just becomes a matter of what you think your time is worth. Ask the company what their willing to spend on a given project. If you aren't happy with the answer let them know you are very interested in working with them, but you would need more money.
