crap, maybe this belongs in outpatient counseling- you can move it if necessary. thanks

My client wants me to put together a brief description of my services so she can email to people who like the site and may be interested in working with me. Do you think this is good . . . or too much? Maybe I should leave out the Phases/Timeline part until someone is actually interested, then explain at that time . . .

I work full time in the Web Group at the investment firm AllianceBernstein in Manhattan, have completed several night classes in design at School of Visual Arts, and enjoy the challenge of taking on freelance web design projects. My goal is to effectively translate each client?s unique ideas/personality to the web medium. I encourage open and honest communication in designer-client relationship, while remaining committed to completing project to client?s total satisfaction.

CRO8: Sell yourself more!!

My goal is -> I excell at

etc.

Also change:

I work full time in the -> I am a midweight web designer working full-time in the

If you do more coding than graphical stuff then call yourself a web developer or web programmer (I'd go with developer as it is more flexible).

Over to OC for you too.

Thanks Emps. I guess I am not used to being aggressive in selling myself. I just dont want to come across as cocky and give the flase impression I am an amazing designer/programmer. Need confidence! I'll re-work it.

Thanks.

So try something like:

---------------
I am a midweight web designer working full-time in the Web Group at the investment firm AllianceBernstein in Manhattan. I have demonstratable skills in self-directed learning having completed several night classes in design at School of Visual Arts and I rise to the challenge of taking on freelance web design projects. I excell at effectively translating each client?s unique ideas/personality to the web medium. My excellent interpresonal skills enable open and honest communication in designer-client relationship and I am committed to completing project to client?s total satisfaction.

For examples of my work see:
---------------

Hope that helps - it possibly needs more pumping up though - you should be mildly embarrased to read it or you haven't done it right

[edit: LOL - you sneaked in there while I was typing but see the FAQs below here:

:FAQ: Getting a job - how?

esp. the resume one - think of it as your presonal profile from your resume.]

"midweight" doesn't mean a thing to me, just fyi. also, i probably wouldn't mention where you work full-time, most employers frown on moonlighting and you might want to separate your salaried life from your other projects. mention you work full-time in development for a manhattan investment firm or something like that.
