As far as I can tell (and it is some feindishly complex code) you are presenting things in rows and I suspect things would hang together better if done in columns. Your design (except for the bottom bar) would translate into a 5 column format and then you could practice popping the different coloured DIVs into the columns and getting the vertical alignment right. Just a thought - I suspect it is the widths that a throwing the design in other browsers and going for 5 columns might help sort that out.
