This is my last page for a while.. it is completely CSS, completely original butI have to spend some time working on my site, reworking Calibration, solving and resolving some of the problems in Nav with this particular architecture.. This design degrades completely intact to about 150 px and still looks good all the way down to the browser limits.. this page is doing in Navigator what Calibration would do IF I made Calibration perfect in IE5.. overlaying the boxes.. Calibration is "fixed" but it does not look really good in either browser.. Time will resolve these issues.. it is not going to stop me writing CSS now.

skyetyger: I seem to have IE6 up and working so I'm going to take advantage of it. As far as I can tell (and it is some feindishly complex code) you are presenting things in rows and I suspect things would hang together better if done in columns. Your design (except for the bottom bar) would translate into a 5 column format and then you could practice popping the different coloured DIVs into the columns and getting the vertical alignment right. Just a thought - I suspect it is the widths that a throwing the design in other browsers and going for 5 columns might help sort that out.

Also have a look at this:

I'm not sure if it is directly applicable but it does offer some interesting tips on getting some tricky CSS-only looks (I know I've found it helpful).

Sheer genius Emp! I believe that might work just fine. I will learn a lot doing it at least, certainly worth a try as all design should work in Nav 6 and IE 5 or it is a poor design.. at least in my mind.. I downloaded Opera, that is a really nice browser, I am just looking at it so far but nice..

Nav will read color IF it is in the DIV id not as a class as I have done. If it is in the Div ID as background color it will notvalidate..this is what was confusing me.. the fact that it validates as a class, but does not work.. but does not validate as in the DIV but it does work.. Nav is correct to collapse empty boxes ... I am starting to appreciate that very much.. as the box does not interfere with background or other setttings Starting to really like and appreciate CSS.. I think it will do all that tables do and more and more and more.. I use many tiling features on tables so I am very interested in recreating that feature in CSS.

YIKES! Neon Pink is may be a web safe color, but it's not a eye safe color! Man I look away from the computer and see a neon pink dog!
