...using php/mysql.
Care to take a look?
No big ambitions or anything, just wanted to try it out. http://www.dmsproject.com/DmS/index.php

DmS: Nice work - it shouldn't be any problem for people to make their own blog in things like PHP and this is a good example of how it should be done. Some thoughts:

1. The link is the same colour as the header so its not clear where it is.

2. You use a header span but I would recommend you use the HTML structural elements (headers in this case) and apply the style to it. I think I mentioned to you their importance for search engines and it is also important for browsers for the blind.

3. I feel it needs a highlight colour to draw attention to something. I'd probably go for a lighter colour behind the blog entries (or at least behind the latest one) or the main/central panel.

Other than that its all good work.

I like it! I haven't had time to read the tut at guru's network. Does it give you just about everything you need to set it up? I'd like to try it out when I get home.

Glad you like it so far :-) As I said, it's simple, but I kind of like it anyways.

Emps.
I usually re-style std html-elements, dunno why I didn't this time "shrug".
The accent color... yup, got the same comment on the main site (still havn't done anything about it (note to self, do it u lazy b-stard)). I'm kind of stuck in the brown stuff right now (no, not that stuff...) It gives me a warm feeling (now don't you go there again...)
Btw, you forgot about the metatags

Well not everything, you still need your passwords and username to the db plus an idea on how you want it to look, other than that, well, yes.

I like the colors, they are nice. However, I think it might be in your best interest to improve the logo.

The logo...
it's not a logo really, I just threw in the sig I'm using here.
This is more or less a sub-thingie for the site I put together as a test,
not a site in itself. If I turn it into a "real" site, It's gonna get more attention to the design, it's needed, I know.
I'm planning to expand on this later on, thinking of replacing my phpnuke installation with something new built on the phpcode-principle used for this. As I do this I'll dump the tables and try out a css-only site.
