I finally completed my page at mahjqa.com and I thought it could use some reviews. So, Any comments (positive or negative) are welcome.

Beware, though. It's made with some obscure version of Frontpage. Any pagemakers who prefer to code their site by hand will propably be disgusted at the code... But my question is: does it show up all right?

mahjqa: Well I did twist your arm so I owe you a review!! As you've noticed the lack of metatags I can skip on to other things:

1. That interface is great (I remeber it coming up in another forum and is certainly working nicely - nice little bit of JavaScript to alternate the images) but why is wrapped in a FONT tag? In fact you've done it with a number of your interface slices - the only thing I can see this doing is bloating your page code.

2. Your page is crying out for a little touch of CSS - your main page has very little text on it but a vast number of FONT tags which really can be removed. There are other things that look like they have been placed in to give vertical and horizontal spacing and CSS will do all that for you too.

3. I think I'd prefer the main/content area to be in some kind of box with a lighter colour behind it. The darker grey (495A4D) text isn't as clear as it could be.

4. On your links page I think I'd put the button where the link is as they look a little odd in their own column. Your divider (which fits in very nicely) looks off centre because of it.

5. I feel like all the pages could do with some kind of box to constrain them content - I actually like the grooved outline you use on your art pages so perhaps look at using something like that.

6. Does you host not give you access to server side scripting? It does seem a pity to have to use an external guestbook in this day and age.

Overall it looks great although I feel like the content area needs the attention to detail which makes your interface stand out. At the moment the pages have a slightly unbalanced feel with the HTML area not really complementing your interface - you have a nice divider and perhaps you might want to think about expanding the theme to bullets or a pos. graphical frame around your main content. Its a little vague and is just a nagging suspicion that something is missing. Your code really does need addressing and I suspect it would make things a lot simpler and easier if you were to sort out some CSS for your pages. Hopefully one of the more graphically able inmates might be able to suggest something a bit more concrete than I can but I'll have a think about this. Anyway keep up the god work - it is always nice to see your sigs in one place (those animations are fantastic).
