Hi all,

Just found your board, and as I have a new site of my own, I'd be very grateful for some feedback. Technical points would be appreciated, but most of all I would like to hear what people think of the design - does it work or should I make a beeline straight for the drawing board. My site is here:

Thanks in adance for your comments!

Welcome, blind squirrel!

I really like the site, the design looks very good, and even the same in IE 6, NN 4.7 & 6.2, Opera 5 and probably most other browsers.
As you might know, IE 6 displays its Image Toolbar whenever the mouse is on an image - if you want to disable it, you can add the meta tag

<META HTTP-EQUIV="imagetoolbar" CONTENT="no">

to your head section.
That's all I can think of - well done!

have fun!

Welcome to the asylym then!
I really like that! Cool ideas you got there! Maybe a little bit too small for my taste though. Not that high tech which caught my eye!
Simple, easy to navigate and very clear!
Keep it up!

This is also up for review here (and it is where my comments are - just in case anyone thought I was being brusque):

Thanks for the feedback guys - much appreciated. Kuckus, thanks for the great tip re. the image toolbar - I will be incorporating that into my sites in future. I deliberately chose the non-hi tech route as my flash skills are pretty limited, and I thought it might help me to stand out a little.

Cheers!

The first thing I said to myself when I saw this site was:
It looks like it could have been done in flash and be kind of a really nice idea
I'm not saying that doing it in html is a bad thing.. it was just the first thing that popped into mymind... maybe some mouseover action on the photos on the bottom?

Yak,

I'm a complete novice at Flash, and not a huge fan of it (although I marvel at some of the sites out there that use it - but I do have cable internet). Yours is an interesting proposal, though, and I will give it some thought - time to finally dip my toe in the water!

Squirrel,

the design works for me (super simple etc...)
only one thing...the rollover color on your links might be a tad weak - a little more contrast might be more effective...
other than that...very nice and good luck

Blind squirrel,
I like your site! Nice concept. The navigation scheme is nice and clear too. The only thing I would suggest is maybe a brighter yellow color for the "folder".
