hallon: Welcome. Yoou ask if it there are any problems viewing the site and it looks like part of the graphic is missing at the top of the lefthand side of the bottom section (that description is poor so I'll clarify if need be). Some further thoughts:

1. I'm not sure why it is in frames pointing to:
www.solstadesign.se/afk

it is the same page.

2. I can see why you went for frames on the main page but I'm not sure the interface is so big that it would require that approach. Perhaps the others might want to their thoughts in on that one and I'll check from my dialup connection at home.

3. The frames is making drilling down and viewing all the pages a little tricky so further comments are a little limited. However, you should use noframe tags to display some content for people without frames.

4. One thing is that you will need keyword and description metatags on all pages, both the frame pages and their contents.

5. When you click on the club information link it brings up links in the bottom lefthand frame but it might be a good idea to also have something load in the content frame too.

6. The large size of the interface makes the content area a bit restricted at 800x600.

7. Navigation can be a little tricky and often (like when you go for a further look at the planes) you are left with no way back to the previous page without resorting to the main navigation. If these pages were viewed outside the frameset (as would happen if people followed a search engine link, although search engines might struggle to index your frames) then there is no navigation to get you back to a page with navigation on it so you might want to look into that.

Overall you have done well with that interface (apart from the missing bit) and there are some nice touches although I would like to see more of a flying/aircraft theme. I'm not sure if the interface is so big that it really requires frames (we'll see on that one) and such an approach can be a bit inflexible and requires some extra planning (esp. on the navigation front). However, it looks good and there is a lot of content and there don't look to be any major problems so you've done well there!!

/back after some small updates, www.afk.just.nu

Thanks a lot Emperor!!

As i said...i should have post this review a long time ago...unfortunately now i havent got that much time to work on the site....
So such big changes as the interface wont be done...i know that it actually is in need, for those who use 800*600...anyhow well se about that...

"graphic is missing at the top of the lefthand side of the bottom section"
yeah dude! explain it to me....what part?? screenshot??

1. for now the site is under the domain www.solstadesign.se its were i work...but whats the problem with that?
2. im not sure frames is the best way...but it seemed like a easy way...no reloads...but for those poor ones that cannot view frames im planning on doing a slimmed version...
3. noframes tag....coming up...
4. meta-tags aswell...
5. yeah i had some complaint about that...changed now...
6. in my opinion the big drawback on this site...but hopefully most of the visitors use at least 1024*768....it looks really good here with 1280*1024 and 21' monitor...but anyhow i should do something about this...I know...
7. changed it for the "plan-area"....and the rest should not be able to view unless there in the main-frames....that is if i dont get rid of the frames....but i probably wont...well se...

now i have something to do the next days ;-)

hallon: OK I'll sort a screenshot out - it is the top part of te lower lefthand frame (if that is closer!!). Not much else to add except:

1. There is nothing wrong with it but it adds another layer of frames and I was trying to drill down to where I could get at the code and I didn't think that top layer was really required.

IE5/NT - I'm swapping machines so I'll have a look using Win2k.

[edit: and a quick update to say they all appear to be showing up fine although in Op6 the bottom left graphics don't line up with the top graphics]

Oh look at that! Arvika. That's almost "home". Grew up in Säffle myself.

--feeling nostalgic and home sick for a while...--

Anyway... I like the top graphic. It looks a bit "airplany". Often this sort of design doesn't really fit with the content, but I think that it works well for a flight club. One thing I do not like so much about it are the three bevelled red buttons on the top left. They look a bit cheezy to me... but maybe that is just me...

I agree that it is not very optimized for 600x800. I really don't like to design for that low resolutions either, but since a majority of all web users still have that resolution, you cannot afford not to make it look good there.
Also, having three seperate menues is rather confusing.

I like the mouse-over effect at the top right when you move over the top menu.

Oh, all the graphics are loading here without problem.
