Welcome to the animal kingdom!

Werewolfs, kangaroos, lions, monkeys, bats and vultures and any other wild animals/birds are welcome ( some have been domesticated over the years but hell, this time we are going jungle ~roooaaar~ on and lets explore the deep jungles.

Oh and by the way usual rules apply...no recycles and like Master Suho so wisely put it...

quote:
... there is no need to post here just to say that you're going to be participating. If you are going to participate, then do so and submit a sig. We don't need to hear about your intention to join. We also don't need to hear about how cool you think the idea is. If it is such a cool idea, make a sig!

[Emp edit: Perhaps some people might benefit from being pointed to the rules:

:FAQ:

quote:
The judge for the month posts his/her rules, and makes his/her judgement on the sig comp winner. Respect this. They have determined their judgement criteria, and that's the end of the story. If they say 'no animations', then feel free to make an animation, but don't be suprised when you don't win.

If kaboi said sigs can bee 800x600 and 250kb then I could see people raising objections but whether or not a name should be on the sig is:

1. Very minor.

2. Something we have discussed before and decided it was up to the judge.

Now back to the competition...........]

Good luck!

OK, I have very little time at the moment, with exams and the like, but this is such a good topic I felt like experimenting a bit. I might do some more work on the animation when I have more time, but for a first go at painting without the gooey stuff, I'm quite pleased. Not any specific sort of cat. End of preamble.

Taobaybee, I love your sig idea! But if you?re looking for a way to reduce the file size, I would make the chameleon?s tongue less detailed. I used to work at a pet store where we sold chameleons, and when they eat, they zap that tongue out there really fast. I?m sure you could find a web site that explains this, but I don?t think that the tongue is curled that much, either; whenever I saw them eat, it looked like it was stretching, not unfolding. So my suggestion (if you want it!) is to decrease the file size by making the tongue faster and more realistic, and therefore use fewer frames. You might even try to find a video of a chameleon eating online and use it for reference. It?s a really cool sig and, if this matters to our judge this month, it would be terrible if you lost points for file size.

While the final judgement is in the hands of Kaboi, I personally don't think it matters whether the animal actually pertains to your name. For example, what has a chameleon got to do with Taobaybee? And does it matter? I won a sig contest a few months ago with a tongue ring image, and my name has nothing to do with jewelry or piercings; it just looked cool.

You really think that kaboi deciding that the animal you choose doesn't have to be directly related to your nick is "breaking down the rules"? Aren't we overreacting here just a bit? I believe it is well within the bounds of what a judge should be able to do, and nothing to get our panties in a twist over.

Now I think it is time for both you and I to stop blabbering and get to work, don't you?

Pretentious are we, Suho1004?
For the record, the hysterical and blabbering overreaction stays on your part.
Email me? What's that about?

I just made a point about what I belive - that this is a SIG thread! - and now you're expecting an 'amen' or a 'Right on!' for defending that it ISN'T?

To clear it up for you: the signature have had its evolution from the time when the illiterate signed with an 'X'. Not including your name is placing yourself in the X-level. And looking att your 'sig' I have no problem detecting where you find yourself.

Sorry kaboi but yo wrote, quote:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh and by the way usual rules apply...no recycles and like Master Suho so wisely put it...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

...and in these rules you can read, quote:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The judge for the month posts his/her rules, and makes his/her judgement on the sig comp winner. Respect this. They have determined their judgement criteria, and that's the end of the story.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So I know that! - Do what ever you like!

I'm just want to emphasize the 'sig comp winner'-part. Sig. Nothing else.
That's the challenge.
To make your name go with anything the Judge suggest.
At least, that is what I have in mind.
That's maybe why all the best sig-masters does just that.
They all put their names on their sigs.
By coincidence?
Wow, I never saw that coming!

The solution may be having two different competitions:

***JUNE 2003 SIG CONTEST ***
***JUNE 2003 SIG with no names CONTEST ***

Then where whould you put your rules?

Still... have fun making YOUR sigs!

I am at a loss as to what your point is exactly, but that aside, it's a moot one. This is a sig contest. The topic is wildlife. If Kaboi feels like imposing rules, he may. If he doesn't feel like it, he may not. A sig is a subjective thing, and if you want your name on it, or if you want it to reflect your name, that's up to you.

End of story.
