How many of you have ever considered murder?

Sometimes you come across some people that really annoy you, making the blood boil. Now if you knew you could get away with it, and was mentally prepared for such an act, would you go through with it?

Hmmm ya seem to have a few contradictions in there

An act of killing unlawfully whilst enraged or not of "normal state of mind" would be considered manslaughter or I think in the US Murder 2

Being mentally prepared and thinking you would get away with it would be considered Murder in the UK and murder 1 in the US (an over simplifictation) and i maybe be wrong so please corect me for it.

OK but back to the bones of the question.

I served in the british armed forces and even then knowing i could be called on to "kill" people and when i did get into a "for real" shooting match, nothing can prepare you for it, i know taking someones life in those circumstances isnt murder, but its still making a conscious act to take anothers life...And i couldnt claim self defence issue as we were doing the assaulting.

However, even after doing it under those circumstances i know i couldnt take someone elses life even if they pissed me off to hell and back and i knew i could get away with it. I'll leave the conscious choice to end another persons life to the psycho's out there. Unless ya fuck with my children, then i wouldnt give a rats ass if i thought i could get away with it, the only promise i would make is if ya did something like that to my kids i will guarantee ya wont make it to the police let alone the judicial system.

No, couldn't do it either, even if I could get away with it. Aside from my belief that this is the only bit of life we're going to get and it's wrong to take it away from anyone, I think the guilt afterwards would be too much. Murder isn't something I could live with for the rest of my life.

I've had murderous thoughts, definitely. There have been one or two people I've despised so much, I've entertained the idea of them dying in a million sickening and horrible ways... but only in a fantasy setting, never reality. And most of that occured when I was a teenager. Now I rarely feel such anger toward someone else, at least never enough to entertain killing them

The only time murder could seem plausible for me was if someone was trying to hurt my children. Then it's more like self-defense anyway.

Hey, tom, could you explain those contradictions to me again? I don't understand where Euro contradicted himself concerning charges that would be brought against him.

Oh, and would I do it if I wouldn't get caught? Nope. Because I always get caught.

I think he meant that killing someone that made your blood boil wasn't an act of thinking and pure thought, you just took action right there...

No I wouldn't. But there have been times in my life when I have wanted to kill myself so the people that interrogated me would feel like shit. But even then I could never do that.

I don't think I've ever actually thought of murdering someone. If I dislike someone enough, I usually imagine myself introducing them to a world of pain and making them suffer by letting them live. To kill them would bring an end to their suffering.

Now, if you don't mind, I'm late for therapy...

To Kill...or not to kill...

That question is moot, for me. I was in the Gulf War.

As to the main question, no comment. But then, my 'wiring' is a bit different...killing has that effect on people...

Terry Pratchett had the right of it 'Human beings have a curious aversion to killing somebody they haven't been introduced to'. It is so much harder to kill somebody you don't know

Hmmm statics show that most murders or killings are actually carried out by someone that the victim knows in some form or another

I wouldn't mind killing someone if I were in the C.I.A. Clandestine Service and were assigned to such a task. I've had murderous thoughts in the past... mostly caused by members of certain forums, but I think if I met the person in life, that we'd get along really well. Life is funny that way. When you wish for death, you almost always want life. I don't have the experiences of the veterans here, but if I was confronted with danger to my life, my family's life, or my country... I would most likely copycat the tactics from the Military Guide to Close Combat.
