I've noticed this effect a few times recently while wandering along the Wibbly Wobbly Way so I thought I'd give it a go.
For good effect you need to pick a suitable photo, once you know what you are looking to achieve you get a sense of what will work.

I have to share good news too. Last week I sold my first photographs I was and am completely delighted by this. Also seeing my photos at such a large size, 23 x 33 inches, has given me the urge nay, the need to get some more photos printed and perhaps sell a few.

Ooh, tilt-shift lens photography!

And congrats on selling your first photographs. That's great!

Thanks Suho, I knew there was another name for it, but I just could not think what it was.

Does this work in reverse? I mean can you take a toy town and make it look like a real town?

I thought you might like to see one of the photos I sold. This is the Anglican Cathedral Liverpool. I am trying to like to my flickr page in the way they suggest. rather than upload another version.

Well, you would need a really good model, obviously, then perhaps a wider DOF might do it. Some train sets lok really good photographed.

I came across cityshrinker today and it reminded me about this thread.

I really don't understand how the effect is achieved or what I'm seeing with my eyes, they're quite amazing shots.
