If I'm understanding you correctly, this is the :FAQ: you need to see.

Or you can look at the site from sun: Get Solaris

But why do you want solaris, i realy don't see any use for it unless you are in need of a real heavy server system to power a university backbone or something.

In which case, warez would be a VERY bad idea.

Up until a few months ago Solaris had cd images you could download for free of the system 7 & 8 operating systems. How ever, now that system 9 for x86 is available those links have disappeared. BTW- the x86 is what you want if you have an Intel or AMD chip.

$20 is pretty darn reasonable for an O.S. Just skip a few Hamburgers or a couple of sixpacks of beer and it's paid for...

I believe Sun stopped offering Solaris to download on the x86 quite a while ago. I'm not really sure what you want with it though. Use one of the various Linux distro's instead.

I'm sorry if i'm going to get off topic.

Jestah, I have FreeBSD 4.8 Release installed with Windows XP pro as a dual boot. FreeBSD does not recognize my hardware. After the installation it goes right to command prompt instead of going to desktop. Can you help me configure my hardware?? Should i make a new topic for this and you will help me?? The answer is no i still did not get my modem in Redhat working. I know it's been a long time. Please reply back. Thanks Jestah.
