This is a pretty interesting little toy. I've been hearing about it lately and saw the progenitor last night on the Jimmy Kimmel show. I figured I'd give it a try.

It's kind of a networking site. You can use it to hook up with your existing friends, make new ones, or find dates. I haven't been playing with it for very long but it looks like there are some pretty cool options.

Only one problem I see with this service. You must already have friends to make friends.

Once again, I'm screwed.

Yes, Lacuna, but Alaska probably isn't the easiest place to run into people.

Well, I don't know about that... There's a lot more ice in the streets for people to slip on, thus making it easier for you to run into people... Or over them as the case may be ::shrugs::

hmmm....could be why i have no friends

I've signed up to have a nose around and added krets as my friend (although purely for scientific purposes ) - I also added someone I think is Jeni but the they didn't look very much like her in in the picture so perhaps I'm harrassing innocent women again (and I believe the court order prohibits me from such activities so I could be in trouble).

[edit: Perhaps we need stalkster?]

Its awfully slow at the moment - I doubt I'll stick around if it always crawls along like that. I'm not sure I have added 'Jeni' now as it timed out so..........

haha skaarjj, i'd gladly send you some, if i could figure out how!
i read somewhere that ketchikan gets 15 feet of rain per year. dunno how accurate that is, as i'm too lazy to check, but it sounds about right! so far summer has consisted of 2 weeks with no rain. it ended last week....
they've even got a giant rain gauge downtown to measure our "liquid sunshine"..... please...
ok...i'd best stop bitchin now...or i may get a good rant going

15 feet of rain in one year???? I haven't seen 15 feet of rain in my entire life, we're lucky to get 2-3 inches in a year (usually all over the course of 12 hours, generally the first week of June or the last week of October).

Lacuna & LF

Ketchikan is not all that far from Prince Rupert, northcoast of BC..where I spent a fews years..... MANY years ago and PR's claim to fame then was 127 INCHES (approx) of rain annually. So give or take...whatever you're probably in there somewhere. Keep checking your feet... first sign of webbing between the toes ... it's time to move on. =)

ok...after a bit of checking... the average annual rainfall in ketchikan is 162 inches or 13.5 feet. serveral sites stated that this average was easily exceeded. so...there you have it. another lil tid bit of useless information hehe

nojive: i believe my toes are beginning to become webbed. am moving soon!

Not wishing to disrupt the rainfall on Ketchikan but:

krets & Lacuna: It was being awfully slow and stuff when I did that so I'll redo things.

Lacuna, NoJive - I don't doubt the 15 feet (or 13.5 or whatever), I've seen places, allbeit on TV, that get that much and more. It's just that living in this desert for the last 20 years has kinda altered my ideas of rain and everytime someone mentions they get more than a foot of rain in one year my jaw hits the floor, haha.

All righty, I was bored at work, so I added krets and Emps as friends, still looking for Lac. And I'm freewill @ eml.cc, so now you know you're declining

And no kidding about s...l....o.....w.......
