Edit: Although, I must admit, I thought that the different categories were rather main-stream. I'd like to see some more contemporary art work in there other than 3D or photo-real 2D paintings. Like pop art, abstracts, pixel artworks, skins, stuff that really wraps up the entire digital medium etc etc -- then I'd defiantly buy it.

I saw that on Conceptart.org when it was first released. A bunch of artists that frequent those sites are in it. Anyways, I've wanted to buy it for about 2 months, but haven't had the money.

Really awesome.

I have always liked better the Cgtalk forums by themselevs rathger than some of the stuff they pick on their galleries (excluding some birlliant stuff, may i say).

I liked couple of 3D buildings...but everything else is boring....people are forgeting about classic art nowdays.... :P

he is alright.... pretty good work, especially life drawings, but still he is nothing compared to masters

I can tell from his work he really likes Sargent.

Craig is one of my favorite artists, and his traditional stuff is like the closest I've seen to really good traditional art. If you want, I can dig up some AMAZING stuff by random artists I have stored on my hard drive somewhere.

The masters were good, they were pioneers, definataly, but in all honesty, I'm not so sure that i like them that much. Art, IMO, has progressed since then, building upon what they pioneered.

I have infinate list of painters I admire, but when it comes to human figure drawings, I usually go with michelangelo...I am very hardcore kind of guy when it comes to fine arts

I prefare to study masters in order to develop my skills rather than modern day artist, I know what you mean about art moving on and changing, but I guess the source should come from pioneers

This is an oil painting, but it looks like a photo. That is my problem with it. A lot of the masters created photos, and although, like the Dutch artists, it takes tons of time and practice and talent and patience, I'd rather see something like this:



This, to me, has more artistic merit than the above painting. Of course, one should keep in mind that opinions of art vary drasticly from person to person, but in my opintion, I'd much rather have this hanging on my wallthan the first painting.

I know what you mean dude, I agree wth you at some point, but for me art takes many forms...see, I want to gain mastery in painting like Bauguereau or Han Wu Chen, but it doesnt mean I will always paint like that, it all depends on the mood, setting, style...just like you can draw many styles...manga, marvel, realistic...I look the same way at paintings...I love the picture you posted, its great I like it, but the problem is I dont think its really that hard, sometimes I want to paint THAT othertimes I like very realistic...I want to get to the top most level of painting perfection before I can get flexible hope this makes it clear why I like those paintings. (just for technique)
