I knew I was going to be asked that, and sorta kicked myself for not mentioning it.

The arm is a photograph. Did it about 15 years ago for a Computer Museum ad. Absolutely awesome metal work. Always liked the image, took a long time to find something to do with it!

hey axleclarkeuk.... you'd win if I had my way.... that is so original and distinctive... the way you made it appear to come out from the water is cool... and yeah, the diver just tops it off.

ahh.. now that one is more normal... v.good... similar to mine in some way... but the diver still rocks.

i suppose it started off the same way most of us do, you start tinkering away and then all of a sudden you see something and go from there...
