Sorry to be late here, I should have jumped in earlier. Tell your client what happened, gather together whatever work you can save (printouts, maybe?) and re-create your work. Maybe you'll be able to bill for this time, but usually not. Eat it and move on, it's your only choice. (From their perspective, they have backup tapes, you should have backups too!) |

Is the data completely gone? Have you tried having your files taken off of the HD? |

tj333: Sorry to hear about that (it happens to us all - hopefully only once!!). I was once told 'Data isn't backed up until it is stored in a different building' (preferrably one a long way away from the other). |

This is true tj. If you hang around long enough you hear similar horror stories and recoveries. Depending on how much your getting for the logo you might want to look into taking your HD elsewhere. If its not worth the cost then I wouldn't bother, but if you can make money, it might be a good idea. |

Useing the Zip disks seems like a good idea. Ciurrently I only use mine for file transfers between computers only but useing it for backup would be helpful. I guess all that is left to do is get on with life and remake the logo. Thanks for the advice. |
