Lucid, that's called a Kwan Dao. A friend of mine is learning how to use one in his kung fu class. Good work

Hate to split hairs, but it's not. The Kwan Dao's tassel is on the head, and the head is bigger, but bottom also has a spear point.

This thread is hilarious... *cough* I am still working on something to blow mahjqas gun, away.... and stuff. Yea.

DL, I changed the lighting on the barrel, as you suggested... added some more animation and shrank it down, to compensate for the filesize.

damn mah .. can we tie him up again .. that gun's animation is sweet!!!!

hmm... lookin good M. but eh... it opens closes and fires... where are the used cartridges and the new bullets? Also... I would have made it with the barrel at the top not the bottom... Is that just a personal preference?

Really smooth work though... great metal also.

Well paint me green and call me Gumby. Just goes to show how well I know my kung fu weapons.

Izzy, I know you have been gone for a few days. If you check the other thread you will notice that Mahjqa based the gun design from a characterized gun on the Trigun anime series. Just to let you know .

Izz', I indeed modeled it after another gun, as InSiDeR said.

Indeed, it would've been complete with adding bullets, cartridges, and shooting six times, but that would've made the filesize unworkable... The thing is big enough as it is.

(And after that, I would have to add a hand inserting the bullets, and so on... I'd like to keep it simple as it is.)

For his first one, Moth's is great. Texturing is near perfect. He could be the next Mahjqa if he keeps this up.

Amerasu; that's some sweet detail you've got there.. and the colors are very pretty.

(edit: one thing though.. if that's supposed to be blood on the axeblades, try setting the blending mode of the blood layer to multiply or color burn... often works better.)

But there has been a small misunderstanding, I think. This is my first entry in this month's competition. It is not my first entry ever...

I like all of the entries. Even the sharpening iron. Mahjqa has done an amazing piece of work. I can only hope to be as good as him one day.

Need a clarification. Does my entry have to have my name on it or is the wood-burned moth on the handle acceptable?

Would the light also change when the gun is shot on recoil?

Moth; well, it's not a rule or anything, and a name isn't really necessary. In the best case it's supposed to represent you. So your submission would be correct anyway. Think about Eyezaer using pears, Bugimus with a bug, VP with his mop... you get the picture. I just thought I'd be on the safe side.

InSiDeR: not significantly. When the gun opens, the front part rotates 30 degrees. On the recoil of the gun, the rotation is only 3 degrees. It simply looks more since the gun goes backwards.

(and sue me, I've worked far too long on this thing It's almost christmas, what the hell am I doing with a gun anyway?)
