I don't know anything about anything, it seems like, I'm just learning as I go. Would one of these be easier for a newbie to install than the other? I believe you just upload the files/directories, CHMOD one file and go to the URL in your browser for the board where it's all point and click from there to configure, even sets up your database for you (you'll have to know db name, hostname, password etc). Then you take ccare of some CHMOD and file deletion for security purposes then you're set to go. By the way, anyone using phpBB2 should upgrade to 2.02 and check the new template caching mod option in the /contrib directory included in the release. Eases server loads and speeds page generation, could be very important for a few board admins round these parts Jason

They just want a place to post a free materials exchange. It is on a green non-profit site that I am helping out. Would I be able to trim down one of the big boards enough for that or shall I start looking for something else entirely? I really appreciate the help, Pam
