Topic: Good methods of inspiration...

I can't seem to think of any ideas for my web site. So, what are some good ways of finding inspiration?

Some ideas:-

1) Get a way form the computer and do something different if you have a design block (always works for me!)

2) Find out what the site is for and what the content is

3) Look in magazines

4) Read books

5) Listen to music

6) Look at Here, Here, Here, Here & here and the whole internet for idea's (but don't copy!!)

7) Sketch some ideas down on paper based on what the site is for

8) Build site if you have ideas, if not return to step 1 .

That should help you I hope. Step one is always good!!

I really wasn't kidding.

Switch off your PC and get out into the real world. Got have coffee with some friends you haven't seen in years. Go to the library and borrow books by randomly selecting them from the shelves. <- That one's always fun.....

Identify what inspires you and why. Write it down, cut it out and mix it up. Draw, paint, sleep, read. Anything but potter around online wondering why you don't feel creative.

Ahh! Go learn about Freud. He's cool. Well actualy he a complete nut case but he has some wacked out views on creativity that got me thinking in any event. Pholisphers trying to identify what it is to be creative! Hah! I love em.....

Write down the main things that you like or that interest you.

Then turn off your PC and go research your thoughts......

Don't have any friends. And no, I'm not a nerd who's slaved away in front of the computer his whole life. I just don't like talking to people any more.

And reading is something I do a lot. But the only library I have access to is a University Library, and they don't have any good fiction books.

Well I usually find inspiration by yoyoing and getting some fresh air, and once in awhile during school I will think of ideas, hehe. If you don't have friends, just sit down, watch people and think, sometimes just slappin a piece paper on a table and drawing will do it. Although sometimes when I am bored, I will just throw on my headphones and open PS and sorda just doodle around, you just gotta let your creative juices flow, get inspired!

I really dont know what gets me thinkin... Someting i see on the teevee (scifi channel) or someting some one says... or a picture i see on the web... the great masters. different music. I tend to visualize all those things in my head... den someting totally diff will come out.

I've been getting a lot of ideas from print advertisment.

Who needs fiction? Pick up anything. National Geographic for all that matters. Looks at how a page on a magazine is layed out or an advertisment for some company.

I don't think inspiration can really be sought though. You just have to stumble upon it. Kind of like finding a good woman that you want to spend the rest of your life with. Know what I mean?

I was riding home today, and I got hit with the ultimate inspirational idea.

The irony of it is the inspiration was based on the Glass Tutorial.

Sometimes watching a movie helps. Try desigining something after watching space odyssy or fight club for example. Any movie that has a certain feel that you want to recreate?
