I moused over one image and before I knew what was happening, my screen was all black, just the top corner of one image, I didn't even have time to try and understand the interface! I would put a maximum size on the growth of each image, perhaps have it stop at the true resolution of the image? I tried to use the "fix image" link, but it was already shrinking by then, that was annoying. I've been thinking about this, perhaps the controls could work like this: no growing or shrinking occiurs until you 'click' on an image, and then the growth or shrinking of an image could be controlled by your mouse movements, right for bigger, left for smaller? This way the user would be more "in control" of the viewing. You may need to explain how it all works at the start, but once you understand it'd be a great way to view a portfolio.
