![]() InI this is very interesting...Since code baffles me, I won't even try to figure out how you did it. However, I am noticing a whole buttload of flickering going on when the images enlarge. I'm sure this is due to the image refresh as it gets larger, but it hurts!! My own opinion, use a darker background, so that this flicker does not kill the eye so much...Cool stuff! |

Maniac (V) Lord Mad Scientist Sovereign of all the lands Ozone and just beyond that little green line over there... From: Stockholm, Sweden |
![]() Well, with IE6, W2K, a 32MB video card and an 850Mhz machine I get no flicker at all. I didn't mouseover any of the images at first, but once I did, wow! That was trippy. |

![]() Well, I for one love it!!! Great work, and a really cool way to enlarge a graphic. Kudos. |
Maniac (V) Inmate From: Seoul, Korea |
![]() I actually felt a moment of intense, gripping fear when the images started to get bigger... very cool, though. |
Maniac (V) Mad Scientist with Finglongers From: Cell 53, East Wing |
![]() InI: I'm on IE6/WinME (poor RAM poor processor [500MHz PIII] - until I get around to upgrading this computer) and the flicker was a really punishing all screen strobe which has left me eyes a bit funny (although I did keep the mouseover on for as long as was bearable to see what would happen). |

![]() InI: Works fine with no flicker - well done - that is a great toy. How about having it stop expanding when it reaches the size of the window? |
Maniac (V) Mad Scientist with Finglongers From: Cell 53, East Wing |
![]() InI: I was thinking. Would it be possible to use this script as an alternative to the thumbnail/pop-up for full picture kind of gallery we see a lot? Instead of just putting the new image in a pop-up window a nice touch might be swapping the source of the image from the thumbnail to the ful-size version and then growing that to its full size. |

![]() Not only do I find it usefull, I find it even better that you will let us use this. looking into it...one thing i woulde like to see, is the expanding/contracting stopping when the mouse is not on a pic...it is annoying to constantly expand the de-contracting pic as one attempts to scroll the window... |

![]() WS: I suspect it will be possible to different versions depending on what you want - it should be possible to have one that expands and contracts with movements of the mousewheel or on left and right mousebutton presses or using the plus and minus keys on the keyboard (or any other key combination) you'd only really need to identify the event and use that to fire the function off (you'd have to detect some kind of focus or mouseover as well so you'd know which image was being refered to - tabindex or something else would be useful for selecting the pictures). |

![]() Well just tried it this morning again and there is NO flicker...I am using WinXP pro with IE 6. Maybe I just had too many progs running when I looked at it yersterday. COOL!! |
Maniac (V) Inmate From: Seoul, Korea |
![]() So I guess there's no upper limit on this thing, huh? I put my mouse over an image, went to fix lunch, and came back to discover that the original pixels had grown to be larger than my cursor. Apparently it shrinks a lot quicke than it expands, though. |

![]() Works in NS 6.2.1 (at least the newer version does). No flicker. The scrolling is a bit disorienting, though. Took me a moment to get used to. |

![]() OK, I didn't read through all the posts but I like the first one better. I got really confused when they were expanding and scrolling and. . . wooo. |

![]() Woah, it's really getting good...nice work, Ini! Would love to see it incorporated into PSPong...hell, I'd love to see it incorporated everywhere...great idea, and with the controls, even better. |

Paranoid (IV) Inmate From: under your rug, |
![]() I think I missed something, when my mouse hovers over the image it zooms and that's cool but why does it not stop at a set limit, if I leave my mouse over the image it will zoom until I can't see anything at all. |

Maniac (V) Lord Mad Scientist Sovereign of all the lands Ozone and just beyond that little green line over there... From: Stockholm, Sweden |
![]() Whoa! It's awfully fast now, isn't it? I moused over one image and before I knew what was happening, my screen was all black, just the top corner of one image, I didn't even have time to try and understand the interface! I would put a maximum size on the growth of each image, perhaps have it stop at the true resolution of the image? I tried to use the "fix image" link, but it was already shrinking by then, that was annoying. I've been thinking about this, perhaps the controls could work like this: no growing or shrinking occiurs until you 'click' on an image, and then the growth or shrinking of an image could be controlled by your mouse movements, right for bigger, left for smaller? This way the user would be more "in control" of the viewing. You may need to explain how it all works at the start, but once you understand it'd be a great way to view a portfolio. |
Maniac (V) Mad Scientist with Finglongers From: Cell 53, East Wing |
![]() InI: It really is looking very impressive indeed but the Doc is right - it is too fast and needs a brake on the size. As I had the mouseover it grew rapidly and while I was digesting the options it grew to such a size that everything started strobing. |

![]() This is getting really nice, ini. Lots smoother, and that *out of control* feeling is not near as severe. |

![]() InI: That is superb. Its just the right speed on my computer and stopping the change when you are over the box is a great touch. |
