First, a quick "welcome to the asylum"..
... and now on with the show.
You had braced me for a long wait for the page to load, by saying you were heavy on graphics.... heh...
No prob's on the 56k wait though..... it was quick enough to keep my attention as the normal internet slug.
You've got some hideous things going on in the realm of colour, here.
Let's see..... yellow, purple, black, white, dark purple, pick, light blue, light green.... lalallaalala.. make it stop.
Too much goin on in the the colour department, I think. Tone it done. Pick some base colours that you want this site
to be associated with, and stick to them..... don't choose a pack of skittles.
I'd imaging that viewers on the web at 800x600 wouldn't have much to bitch about. (and yes.. they are still the majority)... however..... Perhaps in a re-design, you should consider making this liquid (so commonly suggested these days). Make it expandable. Times are changing... more and more people are viewing at larger resolutions..... this is the time to consider that fact.
I really can't express enough that your colours take a lot away from your site.
My eyes don't know where they should go..... especially with that red box on the left.
Everything seems to be fighting for attention.
Rather than being a cohesive website.... it's like you've got 5 banners thrown on one page or something.
Nothing to fear though....
I think with some re-arranging of information and colour toning, you can spiff this up.
I think you've got a few different styles workin on this page.
That said though....... they aren't workin' together.
You've got curves and rounded areas.... then you've got the trendy 45 degree angle, jagged edge thing goin too.
I think you've gotta pick one or the other.
Also... with the 45 degree angle style....
that's most effectively done in small parts.
Meaning... the buttons would be small......... filled with small text.... etc. (that's just my opinion, of course)
The "support" page absolutely makes my skin crawl.
The top box doesn't align with the lower one.... the word "support" was done in some ugly manner..... and I don't really know what to say about it... save for... "no.. change that".
On the "locations" page.....
I dont' know if you snagged the maps from mapquest or whatever.... but fix them up.
Those lines look like they were made in MS Paint. This is supposed to be a profesional site, no? Make things smooth, and seemless. Make it smaller if you have to..... but it's gotta be smooth.
Same comment about the text at the top of the page. (i assume now, that the top text will be that ugly on the top of every page, therefore i won't be mentioning it again..... so just assume that i say it everytime)
On the "contact" page.... the top box doesn't line up with the lower two.
Keep this in mind..... "Eyes like alignment".
I think I'm really starting NOT to like that liney yellow background.
When I click the buttons over on the right......... a menu comes up under each one...
But then the page has to load.....
so it reloads the new page... and then the animation of the text flying across the screen has to happen again.
That's bad. No no no. don't do that.
If you have to kill the animation, so be it.
Under the "1 call plus maintenance plan".....
The trademark sign is as large as the text. ... you might want to fix that.
The text also falls out of alignment at the bottom of the page.
AHHH!... that "digital video surveillance" section is just terrible.
I'm sorry.... but you can't do this with colours.
Okay... that's enough weeding through the site... I'm sure I have a dozen more comments.
Here's what I think you should do.
Knock down the colour usage.
Get things in alignment.
Choose a style.... boxy and angular..... or curvy.
Ditch that yellow stripe background.
Get rid of the useless boxes on the far right.
Make your page expand with browsers.
As for coding and all that..... well... I'll let someone with a little more expertise in that area, than myself, tell you how well you did all that.
I've got suggestions as to how you could better re-arrange things on your site.... but I haven't listed them, cause I dont' feel like taking the extra time right now...
If you inquire back.... asking for my thoughts on re-arranging... I may consider it....
but eh... you may already have ideas in your head.
Cheers man,
Michael
