Topic: logotype critique please! (Page 1 of 1)

hi!

i would love to get some critique on below logotype. the word kvinnojour means women's shelter in swedish, so this logo is for an online help/support service for battered and abused women and/or relatives, friends and family who want help helping the woman.

please write down your first thoughts before you read what i was thinking of when i designed the logo and what i want it to convey (below)

what i had in mind when designing the logo was a shape of a strong woman who wasnt relying on the traditional means (hair, makeup clothes) or any barbie like features to show beauty and feminity. i wanted her to be calm tranquil and balanced in herself and not need external approval to feel selfworth.
i wanted to move away from traditional help organisation's cliché logotypes with helping hands and doves in flight i wanted modern and futuristic so that it would convey change in old ways of society.
i chose the classic font to go with the woman to get a foundation that hopefully conveys professionalism and knowledge and expertise.

malinelise: I like it. It would depend on the site but I wonder if a slightly less detailled image with a slightly more abstract feel might work here - more a kind of everywoman figure?

Anyway - its not a site or a site review and I suspect it'll get a better audience/reception in the PS forum so I'm moving it there.
