Granted, it is highly doubtful if the minimal "benefits" of right-click protection outweigh the drawbacks, but let us leave that argument aside for the moment. It wasn't so much [b]what[/b] you did, but the [b]way[/b] you did it. Not only did you disable a basic element of browser functionality, but you spit in the user's face while doing so. Had you merely disabled right-clicking and popped up a single alert notifying the user of that fact I would have thought, 'Hmm... bad design decision,' and then told you so as part of my review. While we're on the subject of right-click "protection," I would like to say I am glad to see that you removed it. You do realize that it protects nothing whatsoever, right? Code can still be viewed through View Source, images can be swiped through screen caps (and other methods). Without right-click capability, though, browsing can be more tedious. I hope this is why you decided to remove the script, and not simply as a result of the backlash here. Loading...
