Here's two websites i've been working on:

This one is done (my part atleast) It's handed to my partner who's fnishing it off. He changed the bg of the main page inside to black which i'm not sure if it looks too good. Btw this is my school website:

I'm making this for my friend. Still in concept and such. Nothing is permanent cept the music player. I keep going back and changing things, adding, removing, and adjusting:

OK, first site (West Ferris):

I don't really see the point of the Flash intro (I usually don't). What's worse, though, is that you make me click on a link to actually get to the page. If you're going to have a Flash intro, you should launch the page immediately after the intro finishes. Why on earth would I want to watch that again?

The rollover effects on the menu are way overdone. Think graceful, elegant. As it is, the rollovers almost gave me a seizure.

Also, when you get around to adding content, you should make sure that the link for the current page is disabled, and highlighted in some way to indicate where the user is on the the site.

The Google logo looks absolute hideous against that green background...

Other than that, I actually like the color scheme.

OK, second site:

Not really much to comment on, actually. I'm not big into doing PS mock-ups of sites before I design them. I guess I feel it kind of goes against the nature of the medium. Looks spiffy, but it also looks very rigid.

Yeah for the flash intro: the splash was made to compete against the other highschools in the city... some flash intro crave. I didn't make it cept the graphics but I know that the link thing is being changed. The location thing is great but I passed the template to my partner with one page done and he was suppose to generate the rest I don't know if he can work with the idea but I'll check. Yea I hated the google logo but those were the only links we had. I had a bit of a trouble brightening it without ruining it... more.

As for the Google logo, you could just try changing the text color to a pure white, like the other links. The font is still distinctive, and I don't think anyone would have a problem recognizing it. The Google logo works because it is generally set against white, but it doesn't really work against dark backgrounds.
