I am over a friends house who has Mozilla, so this is the first time I have seen my page with it.
Why is it that the background color does not seem to show up with Mozilla? It works fine in Netscape,
which is wierd, since I thought they were same. Could it have anything to do with my doctype perhaps?
I don't know. Any other browser checks, like Opera would be cool.

Click on my sig. to get to my page.

Thanks.

{edit - My page really looks ugly in Netscape 4.7. It seems to only look good in internet explorer}

off hand I can't really say.

I will offer these semi-related comments though:

- Mozilla can be downloaded for free. If yo are going to be designing web pages, you *need* to have multiple browsers on which to test. Never rely on just IE....

- in an external stylesheet, you shouldn't have the <!-- and -->. Those are htnl comment tags and serve no purpose in a CSS file.

- You could save a lot of clutter in your code by either eliminating all those multiple tables (it could much easier be just one table) or, even better, get rid of tables altogether....

All the backgrounds colors work very well under Opera 7.

I think DL is right about the stylesheets, but in my opinion you also have to remove the style tags. Try to remove every :

<STYLE TYPE="text/css">
<!--

-->
</STYLE>

It is probably the source of the problem. A CSS file only contains CSS code, not the HTML code used to define a CSS file.

Heh, yeah, those too. Was half asleep and didn't seem to notice the style tags in the style sheet. =)
Whether or not they are part of your problem I don't know, but they certainly don't belong there.

Thanks guys. I will try working on it to remove the tables. I'm not really sure how to keep everything in the
same layout that it is without using tables, but I know it is possible and will have to look into it. And I will fix
up the stylesheets. I just assumed the <STYLE TYPE="text/css"> was needed.

Also, I guess your right DL, I need to download some other browsers.

Um, yea.
I don't have internet at home right now, and my companies firewall does not allow me to download the other browsers.

Anyway, I fixed up the stylesheets, and I was wondering if you guys could check this out in Mozilla and phoenix, and whatever else you feel like using.

Thanks.

{edit - had to do a hard refresh, F5, to get the new stylesheets to kick in.}
