Hi!
I just moved over to 6.1. Is there a way, without skinning, to remove the text from the navigation toolbar in the classic theme.

TIA
Mel

I don't know, but if you're referring to Netscape 6.1, then let me give you a tip. Here's how it works:

Mozilla people ( www.mozilla.org ) create new versions of the Mozilla browser. It has bugs, and they're still working on it.

Netscape people occasionally take the mozilla browser and rename it "netscape 6", maybe hiding some of the bugs.

So, you see, it's better to use mozilla than netscape. It's guaranteed to always be more recent. It might possibly be more buggy, but it's not horrible, and it tends to render pages correctly, even very complicated ones.

Still can't help with your original question, however. =)

And to answer the real question. The only way to remove text under the buttons is to modify skin itself...

Gentlemen, thank you both.
Sorry, it was late last night. Yes, I did mean NS 6.1.

Mr. Max:
Actually, I should have been more specific. It's not just the text i want to
remove (I could do that in Photoshop easily). I would also like to shrink
the height of the bar as well (as resulted when you removed the text in NS 4.x)

I know from my usenet search that is "impossible". Thought, perhaps you guys
had found some hack.

Thank you very much for your help.

Besides editing buttons in PhotoShop, you can also change thier size (you can also find a few skins/themes with very small buttons). You can find more information about themes at the following location: http://home.netscape.com/eng/mozilla/ns6/themes/index.html
