BR tag is depracticated,
no more IMG tag... OBJECT model takes its place.

BR was depreciated in 1.0 I though as well... people just kept using it anyways.

Nope, wasn't deprecated, just required an end tag or the syntax <br />.

Makes sense that they deprecated it, though. It wasn't really in the spirit of XML.

Of course, in the words of Mark Pilgrim: "This is a working draft, now we'll have lots of bickering, then we'll have revisions, then we'll have a final draft, then we'll have one last round of bickering, then we'll have a specification, then we'll all sit around for two years waiting for Microsoft to implement it, then we'll spend the rest of the decade complaining that they got it wrong."

While on the subject on the XHTML 2.0 working draft, has anyone worked with XForms? They seem like fun but I was wondering what the browser support (if any) is like.

When you say that <br /> has been deprecated you should have also show that there is a new element <line>...some text...</line> that takes the place of <br /> rather completely.

Except that it works differently. But if we had told you, you see, it wouldn't have had quite as much of an emotional impact.

BTW: it's not "depracticated" or "depreciated"; it's "deprecated".

Ok, so there is now a working draft and in about 6 months a specification. So when is it advisable to actually start using XHTML 2.0? Do we wait the 2 extra years for MS to pick it up or do we start using it now?

Who has some thoughts on that?

Oh, I'd say wait. Wait a while. XHTML 1.0 works fine and is much more backwards compatible. It's going to be a long time before enough browsers pick up to make it worth it.
