Topic: no color with background color? (Page 1 of 1)

When I go to validate my style sheet, there aren't any "real" errors (after a couple of revisions ), only several warnings:

Do you actually have to declare both the color and background color of every element that supports those attributes?

Also, (kind of relating to my question in the html forum), does "text-align:center" not work with the <span> tag?

Sing it with me... You can't have one without the other!

Keep in mind, transparent and inherit are also valid "colors".

will your apges cease to function if you don't? No.....

But you'll be sure to have covered all your bases if you do, and as brice said, transparent and inherit are valid and useful. So use them =)

Regarding your other question. No, it won't work since <span> is an inline element. Use <div>

Ohhhh, that's where I'd seen transparent mentioned a couple times, now it makes sense.

And that's what I figured about the span tag, just wanted to make sure.
