If you want to put sound in an HTML page you need to use a plugin be it Flash, Winamp, RealPlayer, Beatnik (sp?) or QuickTime etc etc... But ozphactor gives good advice, if you must use sound, use it wisely.

I've even used it before ducks onslaught of rottern fruit and veg =) But that was a special circumstance for an experimental audio site and that object was more scriptable than almost every audio plugin (you can script the volume and the ballence) except for flash, but that doesn't really count as flash has a scripting engine itself but I wasn't allowd to use flash for that site -- silly assignment restrictions.
