Its also possible you could use on of those URL shortening services to create an indirect link to the other sites which would mean your referer wasn't what would appear at the other end. A combination of that might block things in most browsers but........ Such a thing is really annoying, a waste of your time and I'd rather try and work in the other direction and get the referer working in all browsers. Why wouldn't you want people spotting the referer? I'm always picking up interesting things that way (sites that link to useful sites might in turn be useful or link to other useful sites).
