Hey,

I had my site working largely like I wanted it to, so I went into my CSS page to clean up and consolidate where possible (i.e. a:link and a: hover same, so consolidate into one statement). Problem was once I did this some behaviours changed. I must have not paid close enough attention and maybe there were small differences.

Either way I have been beating my head against my screen for some time now and thought some fresh eyes might see what I am missing. here is the link:
http://161.55.120.152/ichweb/specframe.cfm - click on anything in the list

the first problem is on the species menu. now the "present page" link color changes when hovered, it did not used to change color on hover. it stayed white.

the second problem is on the meristics page. the css for the border on the <th> is being ignored. I have no idea why. it sees the other characteristics, just not the border issue. confusing.

the pages are done in Cold Fusion, and you will see multiple <head> <body> etc. tages because I am using includes for the menus.

sorry for the long post.

any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Bill

wcr one: I'm not getting a page there.

Also on the multiple heads and bodies: I'm not sure how CF does things but I have seen similar things in PHP but you only actually need to include fragments of the HTML not a complete web page in its own right (I don't think I've seen anther CF page do this and I can't see why it would require thins to be done that way).

nothing? wierd. try here http://161.55.120.152/ichweb/index.cfm

had not thought about just using bits of code. I might give it a try, though the multiples do not seem to affect how things work per se.

The reason we can't see the first link is because 127.0.0.1 is each of our own machines.
