How can I really take advantage of formatting <LI>sts with CSS? Is there any TUTS or sites dedicated to formatting these?

I was reading something over at the listamatic site regarding: Use <H1> for heading.. <P> for paragraphs.. <LI> for lists.. in other words K.I.S.S.
Up until about the time Cameron and Curtis did some design work for me (recently), I was Mr. Table man... I could slice and dice images up into tables like no other. Not only that, but I was ANTI-COLSPAN and ANTI-ROWSPAN - I was the shit.

I'd like to announce: Goodbye to nested TABLES!

It's not so much 'k.i.s.s.' (though that does certainly apply) as it is simply using tags for what they are itended.

Seperation of style and content.

Etc...

One of the purposes is to allow for the portability of web pages, so that information can easily be shared between different formats and different documents/systems.

Something I'd like to find out how to do is to (and I know it can be done) format a nested UL into a horizontal menu. The items on the top level are the only ones visible at first, then when you mouseOver them the ones that are nested under them appear. I saw a tutorial for it somewhere on A List Apart...at least, I think I did, becuase I can't find it now

Skaarjj: Are you thinking of the suckerfish dropdowns? I have been meaning to dig into these myself. They seem kinda buggy, especially in IE, the bgimage doesn't show all the time. I was thinking of trying these with some solid colors and seeing ho they work. There is a hefty 10 lines of JS with these.

As far as pure CSS goes, think we have to wait another decoade or so, heh. Listmatic has a pure CSS dropdown menu, but it isn't quite supported.
