Topic: flash interface design (Page 1 of 1)

here's the preliminary design for a flash interface for my band ... some animations are worked out, other's still need workin'. any feedback would be appreciated.

Some really nice stuff happening! I really like how the photos slide out and then back again.

Two comments about that. It's odd that the enlarged version of the photo scrolls vertically when you scroll the thumbnails. I don't know how you're doing this, so don't know how hard this will be to change. Also, I found it a little wierd that the photo desn't get out of the way when something else wants to be in that space - I had a picture enlarged when I clicked the bio link and it was a little wierd that the picture didn't go away. Also a little wierd that you have to put each picture away - new ones just slide on top. It's sort of cool, but when you have more images it might get messy.

Only other comment is that the dark gray on black stuff in the upper right is a little too subtle.

thanks steve for the reply. i noticed those things too and i'm still trying to figure out how to target those clips when pressing other buttons. still learning action scripts. if there's any sites that you might recommend for action script tutorials i'd appreciate it. thanks again for the review and if anyone else has anyhting to say about it let me know. i'll let you know of updates and any other probs i have.

you have the nav bar there with news, bios, g-book. why is pics so out of place?
and i think the planet doesnt fit in somehow.

Wow - there are so many resources on line I hardly know where to start. My favorite message board for Flash is were-here.com. For Tutorials, were-here has good ones, ultrashock is awesome, flashkit is sort of slow and clunky to navigate but outstanding people there ....

The deeper you get into it, the more you find available.
