If you burn an mp3 it changes the format of the file.... you need to just download the mp3 directly from your computer and then upload it.

When you right mouse click and select properties, what is the file type? I would assume if your teacher burn you the mp3s, they would have been burnt in a format playable by Winamp. You can find a list of what Winamp supports here. Check to see if theres even a file type specified. That could be the problem.
