Hmm what are you trying to animate, if its anything other than a gif or making a rollover forget image ready.

what kind of animation are you talking about?

give us a clue what you are talking about and then maybe we can answer your questions...

For things like Joe Cartoon, Flash is far superior because it is vector based which means you'll be able to resize the cartoon with absolutely no loss in quality.

A rollover is an image that changes to something else when the mouse cursor is over it. You can't browse the web for long without seeing dozens and dozens.

As for animation, ImageReady isn't really an animation tool, exactly. Instead, it provides a simple toolset for the creation of animated GIF images. (And it does a dozen other things which aren't related to animation.)

Flash is an animation program; what's more, it's a vector-based program. This means that it stores shapes as mathematical patterns, which can be redrawn at any size with no loss of resolution. Flash's actual drawing tools are weak, however (has this changed in MX?), so you'd do well to create your graphics in Illustrator or Freehand, then import them into Flash.

I was just about to drop a link in to this FAQ:

What is the difference between Flash and LiveMotion?

then I realised that it was ImageReady Ruski was talking about. They are 2 different tools for 2 different jobs.
