Heh, anyways, I've been doing a whole bunch of director work on and off lately. Most of it focused on a rather complex game (complex for me anyways). It's looking quite nice at the moment. I should have some demo's to show in about 2 months. It's all 2D though, still, directors imaging lingo is hell fun to play with. It's also be happeing a lot sooner if I didn't have three other completly unrelated subjects to be doing work for.

I'll get back to you later with some feedback on these... I'm gonna let the download whilst I sleep. Look'n forward to it though.

Yeah, once someone told me lingo is event driven it all fell into place. You wouldn't believe how many lingo books kinda forget to mention that bit!

I like your demo's though. I haven't got the 3D one working yet, I'll download the sw3d stuff later. I really liked the transition between the home and shop. I was also dig'n the scanlined fade of the text scroller. Although I felt the scanlines were a tad overdone in some bits but maybe its just me, oh and a volume control for the music would be nice, dat woman is loud! Heh, I love that song.



I'm still scared of 3D mainly because I know nothing about 3D maths wise. Then again, I almost failed basic highschool math and I don't seem to be doing too badly nowadays. Anyways, the biggest problem with my current project is the AI stuff. Like trying to write A* for a hex-grid system and some other mind screwy bottom-up AI routines. But, I always seem to figure something out, given enough time and plenty of coffee that is. I don't intend to make the AI too complex as I was planning on this being a multiplayer game for the most part so at some point I'll also be looking into using director's internet networking abilties. Hopefully I'll be able to convince my university to set me up a live multi-user shockwave server (cause I sure as hell can't afford one!) to play with. That oughta be fun to screw around with.

Anyways, it's nice to see what you've been doing of late. I'd like to see more people posting director & flash related stuff around here but I don't think there's much of a following umong the current inmates. Arr well. Maybe one day this side of the halls will see some heavier traffic.... one day...
