Yannah; The real key to learning, is learning how to ask the correct questions.

Example: What is a .exe file?, or I am working on a project, to be sent to a professional printer should I provide a tiff, bmp or Jpeg?

Now for your question on binary. In order to understand how to read binary you need to understand several concepts of basic computing. Such as Binary, and ASCII. Which is a lot to explain via this fourm but a quick search of google will find lot of tutorials.

Try reading this first: http://icogsci1.ucsd.edu/~cg3x/cg3.binary.html

Then come back if and when you some questions to ask.

Funny do they not teach binary and hex in school any more? I learned this in my 5 or 6th grade math class back in the mid 70'. Granted you had to know it back then to do much of anything on a computer programming wise.

Yannah, we're not here to spoon feed you answers. Whilst you teachers get paid to actually give a damn, we don't. Do yourself a favour and learn how to research your interests as opposed to relying on others for the answers. Use the library or even a web search. Trust me; you'll learn most things much quicker this way.

~scratches head, reads thread, wanders off, reads thread, stands on head, reads thread, stands on Fig's head, reads thread, scratches head, scratches Fig's head, turns monitor to the wall, puts trousers on, takes them off and puts them on the right way round, steals Fig's trousers, puts them on head, reads thread, decides to stop pissing about and move this thread to the main forum (where if anyone is interested in teaching Yannah everything can find it)~
