ok..... I'm trying to create a voluminous light in Byrce4 (like your car headlights on a foggy morning). I made a light and then tried making an ellipsoid and playing with the volume, but I can get it to look right. Any ideas...?

Then try this.
Creat a light - either a spotlight or a parallel light.
The select it, and choose edit object.
Bump up the intensity and the softness, and then under render options > visibility object. Choose surface. And check infinate light.
(If these options are different in bryce 4 - you may need to download the trial version of bryce 5 to test it.)
