people i need some help in creating a 3d crystalized background like on this site http://www.dreaminfinity.com/. i have looked every where on the net but i havent found one single tutorial on how to make a '3d crystalized' background in 3D Studio Max 3. |

There is no 3d per sey in there. At least nothing in a 3D modelling program. That appears to be a big chunk of photoshop work. |

the effect on the splash page HAS 3dsmax elements to it. the crystalized forms were created in 3d studio max using simple shapes and then i have applied a transparancy to the forms to give it a see through effect. it also uses a huge chunk of photoshopping and photography. |

well i would like it to be created in 3D Studio Max but eventually i will end up bringing it into photoshop to do the final touches on it like higlights etc... |

for the splash page for dreaminfinity.com, i did tons of photoshop stuff for sure. but the form itself is in 3dsmax |

than how did u went about creating the effect [synergy]? i mean did u do it the same way that [warjournal] said in the reply to this post. |

it really isn't that complicating as warjournal said. all i did was design bunch of triangles with opacity of about 60 or so, do some 3d modeling abstraction with it, render it, save, rotate and render, save, again and again |
