To make the pins look more silver, try giving them a darker pigment (so you're relying more on the reflection for their color). |

Er, I just meant to use a normal pattern. Not necessarily a normal_map or bump_map. (I'm not sure what a bump_map is... does that even exist? If so, it's probably the normal equivalent of an image_map.) |

hehehe getting better, so anyway i went round my apartment and grabbed a load of leads, as we have the same socket here in the czech republic, and i fired it under some lights... |

Not bad. It seems maybe a *tad* bit overexposed around the socket (too much bright white), but otherwise it's nice. |

yes, you are right. i tried to tone down the radiosity brightness, but that was making the rest of the scene too dark. |

It does look a little too large to fit in the hole. However, I'm sure it's just that we don't understand exactly how it's supposed to fit since ours work differently. (I'm in the US, I assume Duck is also.) |
