Which program are you using?

But I think that drawing a spline with the angle 24 degrees and then
animate the box by it would do the beef cake in most of the 3d-programs.

here is a better example....how about a car driving up a ramp to get into a driveway?

is it possible to edit the main ground floor to raise up in 3D Max 5?

Ok...the easy method (and beleive me it don't get much easier than this unless you want to keyframe it yourself) is draw your spline at the angle you want your object to move at, and the exact length you want it to move for. Select the object you want to go up your 'ramp'. Go to the heirarchy tab and select the button which reads 'Affect pivot only', and move the pivot pont of your object to the bottom if it (so it's at the level of whatever part you want to be touching your 'ramp').

Next, with your object still selected, turn off 'affect pivot only' and click on the motion tab. Open the controllers rollout, select 'Position' and then the button just above that (which if you hold your mouse cursor over it, the tool tip the pops up reads 'Assign Controller'. From the list that pops up select 'Path Constraint'. The area bellow the 'Controllers' rollout should change and you should see a button that reads 'Select Spline' or something like that. Click this, select the spline you made earlier and then click the 'select spline' button again to turn it off.

That's it. Your object will now go from the start of your spline ot the end in the length of time you have in your time bar at the bottom (default being 100 frames at 30 frames per second).

Any more questions, just post them up and we'll do our best to answer them.

That's ok...it's what we do here...we help becuase we want to spread the knowledge.

That's a nice thought isn't it. Teachers are recommending the Asylum to their students. If you are a teacher who's recommended us, speak up as we'd like to thank you.
