Now why would you consider it wasted on a beautiful piece of work like that?
Great work mate...really great.

Thanks guys, heres todays update.
Finished with the body, added room to put the engines in when they're finished, added a tail, and the flappity-flapping doodads on the wings.

Next comes the cockpit.. But I've got school this week, so might be wednesday or thursday before another update.

I dunno, just grabbed a random jet blueprint off http://www.suurland.com/ - I'm pretty sure it had a much more wacky name than F-18 - put in on the right monitor, 3d Studio Max on the left monitor and went nuts on the poly modelling.
[EDIT] http://www.suurland.com/blueprint_x.php?image=http://www.suurland-media.com/blueprints/fighters_jet/yf_22_raptor.gif This is the one YF-22 Raptor[/Edit]

Just a note for those who think there's something missing from those 'flappity-flap' things on the wings (they're called control surfaces Dan ), there isn't.
He has the ailerons on the wings and the split-v tail plane has what's called the elerudder on it. It's a combination of the elevators and the rudder. The horizontal tailplane doesn't have the elevators on them becuase they are now redundant becuase of the split-v tail above them. They're purely there as stabilisers.
Oh, and here's a bit of history, a USAF plane. http://www.wpafb.af.mil/museum/modern_flight/mf21a.htm

FYI, it's the F-22 Raptor. Also, to get more specific, the control surfaces on the wings are called aleroins(sp?). Anyways, it's looking really good. You've got the shape just about spot-on.

Heres a little update.
Added lighting (2 low setting omni's to provide a little illuminate from the bottom and the rear, 1 spotlight to creat the shadows on the ship, all combined with the HDRI mapped GI).
Added a low poly cockpit, just because from some angles, since the window material is trasnparent, you'll be able to see inside, I don't want it to be hollow.
Added a window.
I guess the engines are next. Watching hockey now, going out later.. maybe tomorrow.

Details like landing gear, anteni, need to set up a partical system for the engine fires - should all come by next sunday.

I never knew this all stuff was here, I got stuck in the philosophy and politics department. Now I remember one of the reasons why I was interested in the Ozone scene in the first place. Thanks for reminding me people. Some of your work is brilliant and inspirational, need I say keep it up...?
