can someone give me a short explaination what an outer join is? what he does? and why he should be used?
syntax is:

...
WHERE table1.col1 = table2.col1 (+)
...

outerjoin?

okie say u do a join btw 2 tables based on a attribute (eg. ManagerID), with outerjoin, those tuples with NULL in the ManagerID will also appear. hope this helps!

oh yes. i think i understood it.
only tuples with values of NULL or also 0?
