If I Include all of my <META> tags (with PHP or SSI) with keywords and descriptions etc ect, Would a web crawler actualy see them? If so, would there be any advantage to having a huge list of keywords and a bunch of different yet similar discriptions and inserting a random one each time the page in requested?

I typically put all of my META stuff into a page that gets included on all other pages. Yes, crawlers will see it, since it's server side stuff.

I don't see any problems with what you want to do.

Hope this helps.

Web crawlers behave like regular web surfers / web browsers and will get the same page as them. As far as random descriptions are concerned, I don't think that they will play very big role on page indexing, because web crawlers don't visit sites very often and there's no point in randomizing them...

Dracusis: There shouldn't be any problem with that. However, this will give you the same metatags on every page and you might want to have some way of adding a few extra keywords to your keyword metatag as this could help people find the exact page they were looking for quicker.

Coolness. Thanks all for the replies. I had no idea how web crawler worked. I just knew they were like out there and they well... crawled around and stuff.

Emps, nice tip. I never really thought about it like that before....

Scarface, I don't know what you did with your web site, but usually it takes them much more between repeated visits (i.e. weeks and months)...
