ok, this isnt really a question about php (altho, ill have many later on) but im so happy that im finally learning php. my friend @ work is teaching me a few basics and all giddy about it! *eeP eeP*

did anyone else feel this way when learning php or any other language at that??

I had to teach it all to myself... so no. But I am no programerer... heh... I get that way about Pictures I paint!

I've had to teach myself a bunch of different languages, but mostly they all just fill me with frustration. Great possibilities, but also, frustration. (Javascript is a great example of this! :-) PHP was the first language I can recall where I got REALLY EXCITED!!! Damn, it was so easy to do things I *know* are really difficult, having dealt with similar issues before in other server-side languages. Sweet! You're in for a fun ride, no doubt. Enjoy!

I've been playing in PHP for 9 days now. When I started I was told by a friend that the hardest part of PHP is understanding that its not really that hard to learn... its hard to wrap your mind around the fact its not that complicated.

I know what you mean. I started learning it a couple of days ago. Just getting stuff off of PHP.NET and stuff. My copy of firepages had a PHP manual with it so that helps a lot too.

I don't know why I didn't start learning it a long time ago, but hey. . . better late than never.

I don't know anyone that can help me on a person to person basis so I would take full advantage of that.

Yes, I've felt that several times I *love* PHP and wait until you start integrating that with a database... yummy!!!

i know that im only scratching the surface as of right now, but to begin learning this language is enough motivation and inspiration to keep with it.

i can only imagine how wonderful this program can be @ times

php = simply amazing

It's a great springboard to more powerful languages too because it let's you ease into the syntax of Perl, Java, C, C++ and others without forcing you to understand the hardcore programming concepts that are often confusing at first.
