My friend needs to protect a few directories on his netfirms account but they don't support/allow the use of ".htaccess" or ".htpasswd" files

Is thier a way to do the same thing though a cgi script? or maybe a better way though another method?

He doesn't want to hide it from the world, so chmod won't be the answer.

I could do it in ASP but he can't use ASP pages either.

All help is appreciated...
