Bit of a newbie quiestion I guess, and I seem to recall seeing this on another forum many moons ago, but I've searched and searched until my fingers are sore!!!

Can anyone please tell me what's the procedure for remotely registering a DSN (MS Access DB) on a windows 2k adv server so that I can avoid ADODB $'s?

In advance, many thanks.

The poster has demanded we remove all his contributions, less he takes legal action.
We have done so.
Now Tyberius Prime expects him to start complaining that we removed his 'free speech' since this message will replace all of his posts, past and future.

Thanks for the info InI, the only problem is that the server is 350 miles away from me and I need to set up the DSN via the web, hence the question re: remote registering.

"ODBC Data source administrator" is only applicable on the local machine, and since I don't have access to the server control pannel, I cannot set up the DSN in this way.

It's been a while, but I'm sure I read that it's possible to set up via a short JavaScript routine.

Thanks alll the same though, I'll keep looking for the answer and I'll post it here when I find it.
(- I WILL find it!!! -)
