This morning I was driving to work and for some reason began to question the difference between programming languages and their scripting siblings- such as Java and Javascript, VB and VB Script. Basically, what was the original reason for creating scripting languages? I did a search in google and came up with this link |

Javascript and Java have syntaxes that look the same. Otherwise they have virtually no similarities. |

actually javascript wasn't even orginally called "java"script, it was orginally called Mocha (get it??) and then Livescript and finally javascript mostly to capitalize on the new popularity of java. |
